How it reads, what it matches, how a buy works.

Everything OverheardX does, in plain words. If something here and the site disagree, the site is wrong; tell us on X.

How it works

  1. We fetch the post (or you paste its text).
  2. Cashtags, tickers and company names are matched against the 202 official Robinhood stock tokens on Robinhood Chain.
  3. You pick an amount in USDG; the swap goes from your wallet, through Uniswap V3, back to your wallet.

Public posts are read through X's public embed endpoint (the same one that powers embedded posts on other websites). We never log in to X and never see your X account. If X will not give us a post, paste its text instead: the matching is the same.

Matching rules

Matching is rules, not guessing. The same text always gives the same result. In order of strength:

TICKERBare upper-case tickers of 4–5 letters, except words that are also common English (COST, TEAM, SNAP, BULL, PATH, SATS and a few more). 3-letter tickers only from a short allow-list (AMD, IBM, GME, SPY, QQQ, JPM…). 1–2 letters never without $. Sentences written mostly in capitals are skipped for this rule.
nameCompany names from a fixed table, longest first: Nvidia, Tesla, SpaceX, Alphabet, S&P 500… Common words only when capitalised exactly: Apple yes, apple pie no; same for Meta, Strategy, Circle, Ford, Visa.
  • Deliberately not matched: gold, silver, oil, Nasdaq (the exchange), Treasury, Bitcoin, Robinhood.
  • Crypto cashtags ($BTC, $ETH, $SOL…) are shown as crypto, not a stock, with no Buy.
  • $HOOD is shown as no official Robinhood token on RC. Other unknown cashtags: not an official Robinhood token on RC.
  • A stock mentioned three times is one row with three highlights.
  • Buy appears when the deepest USDG pool holds at least $1,000; under $10,000 it is labelled thin pool. Below $1,000: no pool deep enough, shown without Buy.

Official vs lookalike

Official = token named "… • Robinhood Token" whose bytecode is identical to the official NVDA token 0xd0601CE157Db5bdC3162BbaC2a2C8aF5320D9EEC. Scanned from every Uniswap V3 pool paired with USDG on 2 Nov 2026. That gives 202 official tokens and 84 lookalikes with the exact same name and different code.

How a buy works

  • Approve exactly what you spend. If your USDG allowance to SwapRouter02 is lower than the amount, the site asks you to approve that exact amount, never "unlimited". If an older allowance already covers it, there is no approve step.
  • Quote. The amount you type is quoted on Uniswap's QuoterV2 for the deepest USDG pool of that stock token, refreshed every 10 seconds. A quote older than 30 seconds is refreshed before the swap.
  • Slippage 0.5% by default, up to 3%. The minimum you receive is the quote minus slippage; if the price moves further, the swap reverts and nothing is spent but gas.
  • Swap. SwapRouter02.exactInputSingle with recipient = your wallet, on the deepest pool and its fee tier (0.01%, 0.05%, 0.3% or 1%). Gas on Robinhood Chain is about a cent or less per swap (gas price ≈ 0.02 gwei).
  • Buy all mentioned = one approve for the exact total, then one swap per stock token, one after another. Rejecting the approve cancels everything; rejecting one swap skips that stock token and continues. You get a summary like "3 of 4 bought". It is N transactions because there is no contract of ours in the middle.
  • Revoke any time with Revoke USDG allowance in the wallet panel (sets it to 0).

Prices

Every price on this site is a pool price, live, unofficial: what the Uniswap V3 pool on Robinhood Chain gives right now, from QuoterV2 (for your amount) or from the pool's current price (spot). It is not an exchange price. When US markets are closed the pool price can still move, and it can differ from the last exchange price. The quote line shows how far your effective price is from spot ("+0.05% vs spot").

Risks

  • Stock tokens are tokenized exposure issued by Robinhood. They are not shares and are not available to US persons.
  • USDG is issued by Paxos. The issuer can pause transfers or freeze an address; the site checks both and disables Buy when either applies.
  • Pools can be thin or dry up. A thin pool means a worse effective price; we label it and show the cost vs spot before you buy.
  • Slippage: the price can move between quote and swap. Your minimum is enforced on chain.
  • An allowance is a risk. Approve only what you want to spend (the site does this by default) and revoke when done.
  • We never hold your funds and cannot cancel or reverse a transaction once your wallet sends it.
  • Matching is rules-based and can miss a mention or match one you did not mean. Check the highlighted words and the token address before you buy.

Getting USDG: swap a little ETH to USDG on any Robinhood Chain DEX (the WETH/USDG 0.01% Uniswap V3 pool is the deepest). Keep a small amount of ETH for gas (about a cent per swap). USDG token: 0x5fc5…d168.

Public API

No key. JSON. CORS open. Limits per IP: /api/read 2 requests/s (burst 5), everything else 10/s (burst 20); over the limit you get HTTP 429 rate_limited. Times are ISO UTC; 18-decimal amounts come as a string raw plus a number.

Reads a public post and responds with the post, every match with its evidence (character offsets), lookalike warnings and a summary. ?demo=1 gives the example post.

Report a transaction hash. It is stored only if its receipt shows USDG leaving the sender to an official pool and an official stock token arriving, through SwapRouter02. A valid buy made elsewhere and reported here is the same kind of buy and is listed the same way.

The token

The token has no utility inside this product. Creator fees from Pons will go to the creator wallet and pay for the server and domain. No buyback, no yield, no revenue share.

FAQ

Why isn't HOOD here?

There is no official Robinhood stock token for HOOD on Robinhood Chain. A $HOOD cashtag is shown as "no official Robinhood token on RC", never as something to buy.

Why did it miss "gold"?

On purpose. "gold", "silver", "oil", "Nasdaq" and "Bitcoin" are ordinary words in market posts and would match far too often. Use the cashtag ($GLD, $SLV, $USO) and it matches.

Why N transactions for Buy all?

There is no contract of ours between you and Uniswap. Each stock token is its own swap from your wallet, after one approve for the exact total. That keeps your funds out of anyone else's contract.

Can you see my wallet?

Only what any website sees when you connect: your public address and balances on chain. We store a buy when its transaction hash is reported to us (the site does this right after your swap), as the hash and what its receipt shows. We never get a key or a signature for anything else.

Does it read my X account?

No. It reads only public posts, through X's public embed endpoint, and never logs in.

What if X blocks you?

Then a post link fails with "We couldn't read that post". Paste the post's text instead; matching and buying work the same.
